Welcome to The Dough Gurus

Inspiring sourdough pizza workshops @ Maastricht

Our goal: to practice the craft of sourdough bread and pizza with passion and to share this craftsmanship with others with enthusiasm.

Flour to the People!

About us..

Our shared dream was born from the search for adventure, the pursuit of a passion, and the desire to create something new and unique. And so, in 2025, 'The Dough Gurus' was born: two friends, two dough enthusiasts, united by a shared love for sourdough bread and pizza - and preferably all in good company, with a glass of wine and a good dose of fun.

We founded The Dough Gurus with one clear goal in mind: to passionately practice the craft of sourdough bread and pizza and to enthusiastically share this craftsmanship with others.

The Dough Gurus Lex & Camille

Lex.

Born and raised in the beautiful city of Maastricht, I have a deep love for my hometown. It’s a love I share with South Africa – the birthplace of my partner in crime, Jaime.

My passion for making sourdough bread and pizza lies at the heart of what I do, but my curiosity doesn’t stop there. Exploring new countries and cultures continues to inspire me. The best part is meeting new people and expanding your own perspective along the way.

I truly enjoy life, especially those precious moments with family and friends – ideally accompanied by a good glass of wine, a fine whisky, or a sip of limoncello, which I love to make myself using lemons from Italy!

The Dough Guru Lex

My motto: Never enjoy in moderation!

The Dough Guru Camille

Camille.

Born and raised in the Burgundian city of Maastricht, I’m a true bon vivant with a passion for flavor and craftsmanship. Working with dough – especially sourdough – brings me peace, creativity, and a deep connection to tradition and technique.

My love for world cuisines has taken me to places like Italy and China, countries that have inspired me not only in a culinary sense but also culturally. Thanks to my Chinese partner, I had the opportunity to live in China for a while – an experience that enriched my perspective on cooking, travel, and life.

Whether I’m cooking at home, exploring new places, or diving into ancient techniques, it’s all about experience, connection, and sharing meaningful moments.

My motto: From Maastricht to Shanghai – cooking is my universal language.
